Found while beach combing in San Salvo on the wonderful Adriatic Sea side of Italy, on an overcast and chilly November's day. No idea where it came from but almost certain its a door of some sorts and it was well made to have survived its journey in the sea. Sun dried the following summer at our house in the mountains then brought back to England in our van

Double sided thin plank construction for strength (was hard to pick the best side but could be turned round if preferred) was already yellow just cleaned up, sanded back and waxed to seal. Everybody has a theory as to where its from, what’s yours?

Not much making with this one, just finished off in our workshop/showroom on a farm just outside the village of Yoxall in Staffordshire

Not sure if its unique and original but I have to assume it is

This wall hanging roughly measures:

Height 50cm (19¾”)

Width 44cm (17¼”)

Depth 2.5cm (1")

Could have left it on the beach and the sea would have taken it off again, but it called to me and wanted to be picked up and taken care of. After a lifetimes use as a door its now a thing to hang, enjoy and wonder at.

Thank you from the beach combing section of Moulie wood squad
