We made a ‘Yurt’ for a wedding and the pole top frame roof supports had to be angled resulting in about 50 wedge shaped off-cuts. Then another job needed a hole cutting in a chunky plank and so we had a circle, a bit of messing about and the sun was born. Stained with a black dye and waxed like a burnt/dark sun with 23 rays, the number of pairs human DNA has, and the number on a blue meanie’s shirt on the cover of the album ‘Yellow submarine’ by the Beatles oh and don’t mention Jeepers creepers!!
 
Lovingly made and crafted entirely from recycled timber in our workshop/showroom on a farm just outside the little village of Yoxall in Staffordshire
 
Its a one off totally unique and original

Depth 7 cm (2¾”)
 
The timber we reclaim while building yurts, would have be chipped, burnt or composted but we put it to good use, definitely doing our bit to make the world a better place to make yurts in.
